El edificio original del primer Templo Inglés de Montevideo data de 1845 pero en 1934 fue demolido al construirse la nueva rambla Sur.Lo que hoy vemos es una réplica orientada hacia la rambla ya que el edificio original le daba la espalda al mar y estaba ubicado dentro de las murallas.
